How To Apply?

SBI Aurum is an invite-based credit card, and I began the application process by filling out the form on their official website. Shortly after, I received a call from the Aurum Relationship Manager, who requested my card statement for verification. I provided them with the statement for my HDFC Regalia Gold credit card, which showed a total credit limit of 8 lakhs. Within two weeks, I was delighted to learn that my card had been approved, and in the third week, I received the physical card in the mail. Recently, I attempted to apply for this credit card on behalf of a family friend. However, the same Relationship Manager informed me that they have now stopped providing cards on a card-to-card basis. Instead, they now strictly require an income tax return (ITR) showing a minimum income of 40 lakhs to qualify for the card.

Moral Of SBI Aurum

The moral of the story is that individuals who do not possess any super premium credit cards, such as the HDFC Infinia, ICICI Emerald Private Metal, American Express Platinum, and others, can still benefit from obtaining this particular card. While some people argue that the lack of renewal benefits means this card becomes useless after one year, I believe that this card is an excellent option for those who may not qualify for other super premium credit cards and are looking to carry just a single card in their wallet. I understand that the reward ratio may not be very high, but it is essential to consider other valuable benefits that come with the card, such as access to airport lounges, complimentary golf sessions, exclusive BMS offers, and spa treatments. Through these perks, you can potentially receive benefits worth over 1 lakh rupees simply by spending a modest 10,000 rupees. Recently, many banks have implemented devaluation measures for lounge access, requiring a certain amount of spending to gain entry. For example, premium cards like the Yes Bank Marquee now have a spend requirement of 1 lakh rupees to access lounges. In contrast, this card stands out by not imposing any spending criteria for accessing its various benefits, making it a unique and attractive option for those seeking convenience and value.
